The Time Me, My Wife, and In-laws Got Kicked Out of a Pro Hockey Game

A few years ago, my in-laws, wife and I attended an ECHL game. To be exact, we went to a home game for the Gwinnett Gladiators and sat on glass right behind the opposing team’s bench.

There were about 7-8 of us, banging on the glass occasionally…and more as the game and drinks went on. Suddenly there’s a slight scuffle between a few players right in front of us. But the refs came in to break up any potential fight.

This, is when, my father-in-law throws a ladie’s glove over the glass right onto the ice. 😅😂😂😂😂🤣 A Gladiators player scooped it up with his stick and taunted the entire bench of the other team. Enter chaos…

The opponent’s manager had complained to the refs about us banging on the glass…..whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. All the while as play resumes fights break out everywhere! And the rest of the game was chippppppppy. But back to the complaint. Two Gladiator officials came down and told us that we were ejected(I think the lady glove starting a hug brawl was probably the main reason.)

Dejected, we all got up and walked up to the first level of the arena. This is when things got even crazier. The two officials escorting us brought us upstairs into a VIP booth for the rest of the game! Talk about good leadership!! We were treated like royalty after being “ejected.” This is what I like to call My ‘Miracle On Ice.

This is a true story, and I still enjoy the memories of that game. Lon out~
